Natural Gas
PALMET Energy, one of the first investors in the natural gas distribution sector, undertook the construction of 13 Gas Pressure Reduction and Measurement Stations and control rooms along the Turkey-USSR Natural Gas Pipeline in 1987, located in Ankara, Kırklareli, and the Bulgarian border. In the year 2000, the company conducted feasibility studies for natural gas in various regions of Turkey.
The PALMET Gas Group became one of the first active players in the liberalization process of the natural gas market by obtaining natural gas distribution licenses for the Gebze region (PALGAZ) and Erzurum region (PALEN) in 2004. Today, our company provides natural gas supply to approximately 950,000 subscribers in Kocaeli (İZGAZ), Gebze (PALGAZ), and Erzurum (PALEN) provinces.
In 2005, PALMET obtained the first wholesale natural gas sales license (GAZPORT and GASLINE), and in 2009, it secured the Spot LNG Import License (GAZPORT), becoming one of the few companies in the natural gas sector involved in the distribution, trade, and transportation of gas.
PALMET manages 10% of the natural gas consumed in Turkey, with an annual gas volume of 6 billion cubic meters, distributed through distribution networks and natural gas combined cycle power plants.
