Our story

Our company, founded in 1984 under the name PALMET METAL Inc., split into two separate companies under the PALMET Grup in 2007, namely PALMET ENERJİ A.Ş. and PALMET MÜHENDİSLİK.

PALMET undertook the construction of 13 Gas Pressure Reduction and Measurement Stations and control rooms of the Turkey-USSR Natural Gas Pipeline in Ankara, Kırklareli, and at the border with Bulgaria in 1987. It played a pioneering role in the feasibility studies of the sector with the natural gas pipeline works initiated throughout Turkey in the 1990s. In 2001, with the establishment of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA), PALGAZ and PALEN companies, which won the Natural Gas Distribution License Tenders of Gebze and Erzurum cities, became one of the first investors in the energy sector.

PALMET ENERJİ, in 2021, included İZGAZ in its group companies and started providing natural gas supply to İzmit, Gebze with PALGAZ, and Erzurum with PALEN. In 2024, by acquiring companies supplying gas to the Trakya Region (GAZDAŞ Trakya) and Gaziantep Region (GAZDAŞ GAZİANTEP), it serves approximately 2 million customers in 7 provinces and 62 districts, including 4 metropolitan cities, in 5 licensing regions.

After the completion of the construction in 2009, the DELTA Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant with a capacity of 60 MW was put into operation, followed by the commercial operation of the second natural gas combined cycle power plant, the ALES Natural Gas Combined Cycle Power Plant, with a capacity of 62 MW, in December 2012. In 2021, PALMET ENERJİ added BAYMİNA Enerji, one of Turkey's largest natural gas combined cycle power plants, to its group companies, reaching a total installed capacity of 956 MW. Meanwhile, the construction of the 284 MW Eriç Dam and HEPP Project in Erzincan continues.

PALMET Enerji manages approximately 15% of the natural gas consumed in Turkey through distribution networks and natural gas combined cycle power plants with an annual gas volume of 8.5 billion cubic meters.

PALMET Enerji, with the Wholesale Natural Gas Sales and Spot LNG Import License it obtained from the EMRA through GAZPORT, has been operating in the free market economy conditions since 2009, while GASLINE Doğalgaz Toptan Satış A.Ş. started its activities in 2012. PALMET also began supplying electricity to a wide range of customers from wholesale sales companies to end consumers through PALPORT Elektrik Ticaret A.Ş., with the Electricity Wholesale Sales License obtained in 2010.

PALMET Mühendislik conducts engineering and contracting works for all investments of the group. Moreover, it continues its worldwide activities in the design, implementation, and operation of Telecommunications, IT, and energy infrastructures in its field of expertise.

In 2016, PALMET Enerji formed a new partnership structure in Turkey with Manitoba Hydro International, a Canadian company with a 5,000 MW hydroelectric power plant capacity, to support its investments in the energy sector. Operating under the name PALMET Manitoba Hyro International Mühendislik ve Müteahhitlik Ticaret A.Ş. (PMHI A.Ş.), the company primarily provides planning, feasibility, project design, construction, and operation services for hydroelectric energy investments continued by PALMET Enerji.
